WHITEHOUSE STATION, NJ (October 3, 2026) – Members of the Jockey Hollow Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, participated in the America 250! Happy Birthday Celebration at DAR Memorial Park Cemetery in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.

Originally scheduled for May 23 but postponed because of inclement weather, the celebration was successfully held on October 3 and brought together local historical, patriotic, and community organizations to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

The Jockey Hollow Chapter staffed an educational outreach tent throughout the day, sharing information about the Sons of the American Revolution and the patriot ancestors whose service and sacrifice helped secure American independence. Visitors stopped by to learn more about the SAR, the chapter’s activities, and opportunities for membership and involvement in preserving Revolutionary War history.

Representing the chapter were Compatriot Rich Perry, Compatriot Ellis Bailey, and Spencer Peck, a new associate member of the chapter. The chapter’s display featured educational materials about the American Revolution and provided visitors with an opportunity to discuss local Revolutionary War history and the mission of the SAR.

The celebration was hosted by the Old White House Association, the General Frelinghuysen Chapter, NSDAR, and the Colonel Lowrey Chapter, NSDAR, through their America 250 and Cemetery Committees. A special acknowledgment is due to Catherine Paretti, whose leadership and dedication were instrumental in organizing and coordinating the event. Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed historical exhibits, music and entertainment, Revolutionary War reenactors, children’s activities, refreshments, and educational displays highlighting the people, places, and events that shaped the founding of the United States. Local historical and patriotic organizations participated in the event, helping visitors connect with the nation’s Revolutionary heritage as America approaches its Semiquincentennial.

The Jockey Hollow Chapter was proud to join fellow organizations in this community-wide celebration and remains committed to promoting patriotism, preserving Revolutionary War history, and educating future generations about the ideals and sacrifices that led to American independence.
